The "Talking White" Project

OBG creator Tracey Friley is currently working on her first book Talking White: 14 Ways to Cope with Thoughtless Remarks, which is inspired by her personal experiences growing up as a young Brown Girl in Los Angeles. The preface to her book - My Life as an Oreo - is available for download to OBG blog and Twitter Followers as well as OBG Subscribers.

Friley has wrapped up a private adult online focus group (which began 6/22/09 for 4 weeks) and will continue her research during No Name Calling Week (January 25-29, 2010) as she speaks to several groups of girls from the Girls Inc. of Alameda County programs. In the meantime, Friley urges you to read testimonials and share your story on the new Talking White blog, a platform created to thoughtfully and politely discuss the issues surrounding this age-old stereotype... and to end both the negative chatter and what it leaves behind. More updates to follow...

Suggestion Box

We get lots and lots (and lots) of suggestions every day, and we love to hear from you! And please, know that we read and consider every single suggestion although we do not have the manpower to respond to each and every email.
